HILARY WYLLIEName: Hilary Wyllie

Hometown: Bend, OR

Position: Secretary and Accounting Administrator

n Fremont, a sign above our entrance reads, “Through these doors walk some of the finest ag producers in the world.” Hilary Wyllie knows this is true. It’s one reason she greets every customer with a friendly smile and hello.

“When customers come in the store, they’re most likely not here for a good reason. As the first person they see, I can really make a positive impact on their experience. I try to make their day better by being upbeat while they’re in the store,” Hilary explained.

That positive attitude is one of the reasons Hilary was nominated for this month’s Pride of Platte Valley in Fremont.

“She is a relatively new employee and has done a fantastic job since the day she started. She is a pleasure to be around and works at a high level of professionalism that we all appreciate,” remarked Todd Roland, Fremont store lead. “She always has a great attitude and is willing to help with anything we ask.”

Hilary’s attitude and spirit make her a perfect fit for the culture at Platte Valley Equipment.

“Hilary is always willing to help out with whatever is needed and go the extra mile to get the project completed. Her positive attitude and the smile on her face are what people notice first,” said Cindy Evert, accounting manager. “Hilary’s passion to put the customer’s needs first is what makes her a valued part of the PVE team!

“Platte Valley is a tight-knit community,” said Hilary. “It feels like farmers helping farmers. Everyone seems to have good relationships with the customers, and they try to greet everyone by first name.”

Coming from the Pacific Northwest, Hilary’s understanding of ag has changed quite a bit since moving to Nebraska. This role has helped her connect with customers and employees.

“This role has helped me learn more about what the customers do when they leave the store,” said Hilary. “It’s helped me understand why the dealership is necessary in their business.”

According to Hilary, knowing the big picture helped her understand why a customer may be in a bad mood. Or why they come in the store the minute the doors are opened.

“This experience has built my respect and empathy for the customer that wasn’t there when I first started because I didn’t know,” reflected Hilary. “That’s another reason why I greet everyone when they come in. It’s hard to be mad at someone who’s positive and smiling!”

Outside of work, Hilary enjoys running, writing, camping, and spending time with family.

Thank you, Hilary, for your dedication, hard work, and good attitude!

Congratulations on being nominated as Fremont’s Pride of Platte Valley!
